FAQs

  • The set up at The Albany is one projector that throws one video feed over all the screens. The Albany then uses a tool called QLab to make a mask so the video will only be seen on the screens and not the wall behind.

However, in the QLab software they can have multiple videos and images to show on individual screens. They can shrink one of your videos down, rotate it and even duplicate it to show over multiple screens.

You can choose to have one video that goes over every screen or tell the operator that you want it on just one screen.
You can also layer videos and image on top of each other!

  • Arrive 30 minutes before your sound check should start. This will give you time to go upstairs in the theatre and talk to the AV and Light technicians about what you want. It’s also a good time to mention any ‘special moments’ you’d like to practice in your sound check. It will give a chance for the technicians to get everything in place to allow you to see what your visuals will look like in your sound check.

    • Hard drive or USB stick with your individual videos and images

    • Video cue sheet printed and filled out

    • Video and images named as on queue sheet

    • Videos are .MOV (H.264 codec) format and 1920 × 1080 resolution.

    • Image resolutions are no smaller 800px. The bigger the better.

  • The default will be Live Feed camera unless you say otherwise. The AV operator will then mix as appropriate with their skilled judgement.

  • That is absolutely fine! You just need to let the AV technician know.

  • Unfortunately this isn’t possible. The set up is designed for quick turn around for each performance. In the past, it’s worked well to record out a rehearsal of your set. Sometimes for each song, sometimes your whole set. Please feel free to get in touch to find out more, hannah@goood.studio
